A little bit about us
We are Jo & Nic and we met designing children's books for a publisher in Bath. We built our business partnership from scratch. In 2018 we launched our newspapers into retail and it was a huge learning curve for us. We are creatives at heart so we have had to learn how to run a business along the way.

''As an independent it means that we can speak directly to our customers
and gain feedback which has been the solid foundation of our small business.'
Our Story
As we both have many years experience in publishing we were always looking to create something a bit different. Jo's niece was born with visual impairment and disability so the initial idea was to create something nice for her, something she could grip easily, with a crinkly sound, a book that was washable.
The newspaper idea was all a bit 'niche' for the bigger publishers so we decided to do it ourselves.
This is how we created the NURSERY TIMES...
Why newspapers?...
Why not? Babies love to mimic their parents through play with toys right...? And they love scrunching
the paper! How cute would it be for babies to be looking at their own little newspaper. With over 85 headline titles in the range, there's something for everyone and most importantly, it's all good news!
I'm Jo Joof, a mum of 5 daughters aged between 12 and 24. They are all good at art and photography, so I'm never short of a bit of inspiration and help with the social media! I grew up in Sunbury on Thames, worked in London and now live in Frome. I'm a self-taught illustrator and designer with many years experience in children's book publishing so I create hand painted visuals for Nic and write the rhymes and text.
I'm Nic Moore, an illustrator and designer. I grew up in Essex and now live in Bristol. I have one teenage daughter to add to our inspiring team. I also have many years experience in children's book publishing. All my illustrations are created digitally. I'm always keen to keep the content current and fun with a point of difference.
I love the challenge of starting
a brand new title.
We work together passing the files back and forth until we are happy with the designs.
Finally, we send the files off to our maker to get the books printed and professionally sewn.
It's so exciting receiving the finished product, the new titles always become the new favourites!
We would love to work with you...
